There is nothing quite like the fear-factor feeling you get when you come face to face with a fully grown adult lion. That very feeling was all encompassing when I was taking this shot.

I was incredibly fortunate to spend my last morning in Naboisho Conservancy with this guy and a female, who had separated from their pride to mate. This can be for a period of up to 2 weeks long.

We were the only vehicle in the area, which presented me with this totally personal sighting.

The stare is intense, engaging and formidable which is what I love about this shot.
